My Boxing Gym · Last updated November 8, 2026
My Boxing Gym ("the game") is made by CD, an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game and this website handle, why, who else is involved, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You never make an account with us. We don't get your name, email, Meta account or Meta user ID.
- Your settings, gym design, layouts and bests are saved on your headset. We can't see them.
- When you open or join a shared gym, the other players see your avatar's look and how you move, and our online service (run by Unity) sees your IP address so it can connect you.
- There is no voice chat and no text chat. The game never uses your microphone or the headset's cameras.
- If you play your own music, the game reads the audio files on your headset. They never leave it.
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking. We never sell your information.
1. What the game handles, and why
| Information | Used for | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous player ID, made by Unity Authentication the first time you open or join a shared gym | Lets the online service put you in a shared gym and keep the connection working | Unity (our online service provider) |
| IP address and basic connection and device data | Connecting you to other players and keeping the service secure | Unity. Other players' headsets connect through Unity's relay, not directly to yours. |
| Six-digit gym code | Lets friends who know the code join your gym | Unity, and anyone you give the code to |
| Live gameplay data: your head and hand movement, your avatar's look, your gloves or mitts and their color, punches on held mitts, and (if you're the host) your gym's design, layout, outside view and round timer | Making the shared gym work, so everyone sees the same thing | The other players in the same gym, live while you play |
| Your settings, gym design, saved layouts, timer settings and bests | Picking up where you left off | Only you. It stays on your headset. |
| Audio files on your headset (only if you choose MY MUSIC on the gym radio) | Playing your own music in the game | Only you. The files are read on your headset and never sent anywhere. |
| Feedback you choose to send | Fixing bugs and improving the game | Us and our website host (Netlify) |
2. Shared gyms
When you press OPEN GYM, the game opens a private gym and shows a six-digit code. Anyone who has the code can join, up to 10 players, so share it only with people you want to train with. Shared gyms don't appear in any public list. Pressing JOIN with a friend's code takes you to their gym; LEAVE brings you back to your own.
The player who opens the gym hosts it on their headset. Game traffic is carried between headsets by Unity's relay servers, so other players don't get your IP address from the game. The services we use are Unity Authentication (anonymous sign-in, no email or password), Unity Lobby / Sessions (finding the gym by its code) and Unity Relay (carrying the traffic). They are run by Unity Technologies, which processes this information for us under its privacy policy.
We don't record, store or watch what happens in a shared gym. It disappears when everyone leaves. You can play the whole game on your own without ever opening a shared gym.
3. Safety
If someone in your gym is bothering you, press LEAVE, or report them with the Report button on your Meta Quest. Meta handles those reports under its own policies. You can also email us at myboxinggymvr@gmail.com. Please follow Meta's Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences.
4. Movement and tracking
The game reads your headset and controller positions so your punches and movement work, and uses your height to fit your avatar. In a shared gym your head and hand positions are sent live to the other players so they see you move. This isn't recorded or stored by us. The game doesn't collect eye tracking, face tracking, room scans, or images or sound from your headset's cameras or microphone.
5. Your music
The gym radio can play music files you've put in your headset's Music or Download folders. If you choose MY MUSIC, the headset asks for permission to read audio files. The game only lists and plays them on your headset. It never uploads them or plays them to other players: in a shared gym, everyone hears only their own radio. You can remove the permission at any time in your headset's settings.
6. Meta
You get the game through the Meta Horizon Store. Meta runs your account, your headset and the store, under Meta's own privacy policy. The game itself doesn't read your Meta account, name, user ID, friends list or location, and it has no in-game purchases.
7. This website and feedback
This website is hosted by Netlify (in the United States). Like any host, Netlify records visitors' IP address and browser details in its server logs for security and to keep the site running. The site uses no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers.
If you send feedback from our feedback page, we receive what you typed and, only if you enter it, your email address so we can reply. Reports are kept in our Netlify account and email for up to 12 months, then deleted.
8. How long we keep things
- Shared gyms and codes: only while the gym is open.
- Anonymous player ID: kept by Unity while it's in use, and removed with the game's data when you uninstall.
- Unity connection logs: kept by Unity for a limited time for security and to run the service.
- Feedback and emails: up to 12 months.
- Your saves and settings: on your headset until you uninstall the game.
9. Who we share information with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only share it with the other players in your gym (as above), Unity Technologies (online play), Netlify (this website and the feedback form), and authorities if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety. Some of these companies are in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your country, under the providers' standard safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) where the law requires them.
10. Children
My Boxing Gym is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Who can use a Meta Quest is set by Meta's account rules and its parental supervision tools. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Your rights and choices
- Play alone. Everything in the game works without opening a shared gym.
- Delete your data. Uninstall the game to delete your saves and the anonymous player ID on your headset. To have anything you sent us deleted, use our data deletion page.
- Access, correct or object. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state laws such as California's), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to how it's used, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact us below.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: running the game you asked to play (shared gyms); our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and fixing bugs; your consent when you allow access to your music or send us feedback; and legal obligations.
12. Changes
If an update changes what the game does with information (for example, adding voice chat, accounts, friends lists or leaderboards), we will update this page and the date above before that update ships.
